Blues on Tour St. Mary’s Academy ambassadors swept Portland this week! 48 ambassadors visited 25 Catholic grade schools to share their SMA experiences and encourage the grade school students to visit SMA. The ambassadors did a superior job presenting the many opportunities that await middle school girls here. We will be visiting Gilkey, Arbor, and St. Francis Montessori later in the month. Back to School Night 14 ambassadors helped parents find their way to their daughter’s classes at Back to School Night on Tuesday, September 22. Several others helped distribute directories in the front hall. Founders’ Day 43 ambassadors excelled at greeting and escorting alumnae from the classes of 1959, 1949, 1939, and 1934 on Friday, September 25. Ambassadors also served lunch and helped clean up. Phonathon 24 ambassadors dialed current and past parents asking them to consider donating to St. Mary’s annual fund. The event was a blast and the ambassadors did a terrific job of using professional phone skills to benefit St. Mary’s Academy. CYO Volleyball Night Bump, set, spike! 30 ambassadors radiated school spirit as the SMA Blues Volleyball team defeated Sam Barlow (ranked 3rd in state) for the second time on Thursday, October 1. 76 grade school students were given free admission, popcorn, soda, pom-poms, and beaded necklaces as they participated in face painting, cheering, decorating posters, and raffles. Full Day Visits Full Day Visits start this week. Encourage friends who are interested in St. Mary’s Academy to call to set up a full day visit. They can request a sophomore-senior (freshmen can escort second semester) or we would be happy to match them based on their interests. Eighth graders can visit October – April and 7th graders are invited to visit in April. Upcoming events for ambassadors: 150th Eucharistic Celebration: October 18 October Phonathon: October 26-29 Open House: November 8 Food for Thought: November 18
